  • HUSTON, WE NEED A CONDOM!

    HUSTON, WE NEED A CONDOM!

Billionaire philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates through the Grand Challenges in Global Health is offering a 100,000 dollar grant to whom ever can create a Condom that won’t decrease pleasure (which is biggest compliant among males) and will still reduce unplanned pregnancies, STI’s and HIV infections.

“The primary drawback from the male perspective is that condoms decrease pleasure as compared to no condom,” says the Foundation’s description of the challenge.

Submissions and more information can be found at GrandChallenges.org. How would you build a better condom? Share with us your thoughts and comments!

  • OLYMPIC ATHLETES RAISE FUNDS TO FIGHT HIV BY GOING NAKED FOR 'GAY TIMES' →

    projectqueer:

    BY: JASE PEEPLES

    image

Olympic judo star Ashley Mckenzie, gold medal boxer Luke Campbell, and diver Chris Mears lent their support – and beefy bodies to Gay Times magazine to help raise funds for the sexual health charity known as the Terrence Higgins Trust.

In addition to featuring Olympic eye candy, the issue boasts a few eyebrow-raising quotes from young British diver Chris Mears who claims to have met several of his gay friends through fellow diver Tom Daley.

“I have no issues at all being around gay people and I know a few people through Tom who are gay and I’m good friends with them,” Mears told Gay Times. “I’ve got quite a few gay followers of my own through Twitter – I went from 1,000 before the Olympics to 110,000 after it. And I’ve had a couple of funny suggestions, normally guys asking for foursomes with me, Tom and Jack Laugher.”

He also claimed he was trying to encourage a few of Daley’s gay fans to jump ship and get onboard team Mears. “I’m trying to steal his gay fan base by doing this shoot for GT!”

Mears also revealed he doesn’t agree with gay athletes who decide to keep their sexuality a secret.

“If you are a high profile athlete, your fan base is usually quite female,” Mears told Gay Times, “and I wonder if gay athletes don’t come out because they’re trying not to appeal to a smaller market. But their decision is definitely money and media orientated and they think they’ll get more attention if they don’t come out. It’s quite a bad thing, if you can’t be who you are then you’re not giving your fans the real you. You’re selling someone else to them.”

  • FALLEN GUARDIAN ANGELS PERFORMANCE

On World AIDS Day, December 1, 2012, Las Vegas will again join thousands of other theater companies and schools in an international benefit for their local HIV/AIDS organizations by staging “Fallen Guardian Angels” by Edward D Padilla.

ActionRED has admission tickets available, and we will receive the proceeds from our ticket sales to further ActionRED’s mission to help people living with HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada.

“Fallen Guardian Angels” was voted the “Official Script of World AIDS Day” by the World Health Organization in 2010, and was honored with induction into the International AIDS Archives July 2012. The story follows six individuals at the beginning of the AIDS Pandemic, and reminds us of the start of the disease, and how far we have come, and how far we have yet to go.
